Job Details
Provide strategic direction and oversee the day-to-day administration of the school to maintain strong standards of teaching, learning, student development, and academic performance.
Maintain an active presence within the school and demonstrate a strong commitment to education by supporting students in their academic progress, personal growth, and overall well-being.
Work collaboratively with the school board, leadership team, teachers, parents, and students to establish priorities, implement development plans, and achieve long-term educational objectives.
Build and maintain a positive and cooperative working environment that supports employee well-being, professional development, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Maintain an accessible leadership presence and engage regularly with students, staff, families, and the wider school community.
Establish and communicate clear expectations for student achievement, behavior, attendance, safety, inclusion, and personal development while ensuring appropriate support is available to students.
Encourage teachers to cooperate across subjects and departments to strengthen teaching methods, interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and the sharing of effective educational practices.
Promote strong coordination between preschool and school programs to support continuity, consistency, and a smooth transition throughout the student’s educational journey.
Ensure the school provides a safe, inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment where both students and staff can perform and develop effectively.
Monitor academic and operational performance, support quality improvement activities, and ensure school programs and daily practices comply with relevant standards, policies, and educational requirements.
Job Experience Requirements
Relevant teaching qualification or equivalent higher education background, preferably combined with postgraduate studies in education, leadership, or a related field.
Previous experience in school leadership or educational management, including responsibility for administration, staff supervision, personnel matters, and overall school operations.
Strong leadership, planning, and organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and make effective decisions.
Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships and encourage constructive cooperation among students, parents, teachers, school leadership, and other stakeholders.
Practical and forward-looking leadership approach with strong decision-making, problem-solving, and change management skills.
Good knowledge of the Public Education Act and other applicable education laws, regulations, and institutional requirements.
Understanding of collective agreements, employment legislation, staff policies, and regulations governing teachers and other school employees.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to motivate teams, build trust, and guide the organization through continuous improvement and positive change.
